Universities of Applied Sciences: a Practice-Oriented Approach

Degree courses at universities of applied sciences are characterized by a distinctly practice-oriented approach and a focus on the respective professional requirements. Application-oriented research makes universities of applied sciences attractive to business partners and a source of innovation in the region.

In Bavaria, there are numerous state universities of applied sciences and church-run or private institutions. The Universitaet der Bundeswehr Munich and the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt also offer courses leading to a degree from a university of applied sciences. Additionally, there are non-Bavarian institutions that have been authorized  to offer degree level courses in Bavaria.
